Storytelling isn't just a learned skill; it's in my DNA. Growing up surrounded by English professors, I developed a knack for writing at a young age that evolved into a passion for crafting powerful narratives that resonate with lay and professional audiences.
At RK Story Studio, I specialize in developing creative communications strategies and materials for government, healthcare, and non-profit clients, enabling them to connect with their audiences and achieve lasting impact.
With over 18 years of experience in internal and external communications, I've honed my ability to transform complex concepts into impactful stories that drive strategic clarity and results. Whether celebrating legislative victories, highlighting patient experiences, reporting on groundbreaking medical research, or crafting fundraising appeals, I empower organizations to communicate their value effectively.
I bring experience from a range of leading organizations, including NewYork-Presbyterian, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, American Jewish World Service, Save the Sound, and former U.S. Senator Chris Dodd’s office. Each role has shaped my approach as a communicator, honing my ability to connect with diverse audiences through a variety of writing styles, voices, and strategies.
I am a current member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA), National Association of Science Writers (NASW), Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ), and the Freelancers' Union.
